We are, indeed, Robert. When profiteers decide national policies, we can expect no less.

Even Obama’s transition plan to renewable energy was too slow. But then, maybe Jared Kushner will innovate something.

I hope this means people are waking enough to end-run the president, if need be.

It’s hard to tell, Katharine. But all is not lost: China and the European Union will now take the lead in moving forward with the Paris Climate Agreement.

I suspect the horse has already left the barn as regards Trump’s climate rules. There is absolutely no way to bring back coal powered plants as no banker in his right mind is going to fund a coal power plant in 2017 that takes 30-40 years to pay off. I also expect Trump is going to get major opposition from states who have relied on renewable energy projects to get out of the recession. It’s really quite well established now that renewable energy employs more people than fossil fuels do – and even Republican states aren’t going to go backwards in this regard – it will put too many people out of work.

Totally by coincidence I just came across this article about resistance by states: http://secondnexus.com/ecology-and-sustainability/west-coast-will-forge-path/?utm_content=inf_10_1164_2&tse_id=INF_ec2010a0149011e782e5bb027685425d

Thanks for sharing the link to the article, Dr. Bramhall. We on the West Coast don’t plan on reversing course on expanding sustainable renewal energy sources.
