Way to go, Elon Musk and team! Can’t wait for Los Angeles to transition entirely to solar roofs. We even have a choice of solar glass tiles: textured, slate, smooth, and Tuscan.
Teslaβs Elon Musk unveils Solar Roof (2016.10.28)
Published on Oct 28, 2016
During a press event at Universal Studios in L.A., Elon Musk announces that Tesla will build and sell its own line of solar panels with integrated batteries. Coupled with the also unveiled PowerWall 2, it will allow residential homeowners to replace their entire roof with solar panels, making it much simpler for homes to be entirely powered by solar power.
Musk hasn’t yet figured out that there is another important way to power the world: put solar panels designed as hair pieces on the heads of bald men. I will volunteer as a test pilot. π

This is great. Hopefully it takes off.

It should take off among high income homeowners. For those of us at the lower end of the scale, we would most likely have to wait for prices to fall or for government incentive programs.

Being able to afford it never occurred to me. I don’t own a car, never mind a home. The most expensive possession I have is a guitar amp. And that needs to be repaired. π

I suppose the energy companies will provide the rest of the population with energy from clean sources.

This is a bit of good news, considering the current climate. Solar panels are actually on our Florida ballots…I’ll keep you posted.

So luckily I went back to see what I was voting for. Apparently, it’s a very convoluted amendment to take control from the little people/independent contractors who have been providing solar panel access to low income people

Glad you looked deeper, Katherin. The big corporations look for every loophole to control the new technologies.
