“The mainstream media deliberately filters and obfuscates the real news. It wants to spoon feed the public with a controlled narrative. The mainstream media is part of the elite status quo, and it doesn’t want anything to change that. Therefore, the political revolution will not be televised.”

I find the blog cited somewhat hyperbolic. Indeed, the mainstream media aren’t doing their job, but I think they crave ratings more than any political status quo. The public has some responsibility here. I know an alarming number of people who don’t follow politics or do so only by cursory review of headlines. Moreover, they don’t read news, they expect to have it spoon-fed. The story mentioned re: the Wikileaks/DNC was readily and repeatedly discussed on MSBC and PBS, not to mention in the NY Times. Adlai Stevenson II said something to the effect that we get the government we deserve. If that is the case, we should be very scared.
