A bit more background, Rosaliene…
The fellow in the photo has been for at least 30 years a facilitator for numerous NGO’s and solar cooking development projects from Africa to Latin America and the Caribbean. He is one of 100’s of dedicated solar cooking volunteers and promoters, often professionals… Doctors, scientists, aid workers and engineers.
I met Jack in 1991 at the First International Solar cooking Conference in Sacramento, Calif. It turned out he lived in my own home province and over the years we developed a friendship. Before his retirement Jack often took lengthy leaves of absence form his workplace to help with development projects or attend related conferences. He has been truly inspiring to myself and many others, locally and throughout the world.
