Nature is Speaking
Nature is essential to every aspect of human life and well-being — we want to make sure it’s included in the conversation. People are taking more from nature than it has to give, and as a result, we’re putting our own lives on the line… Nature doesn’t need people. People need nature.

As rightly said nature do not need us but we need nature . Planet
Is like our home, we need to keep it clean.if not we will suffer the consequences. Hunger, discease, lack of rain among others negative forces will definitely destroy our planet,,, We need to focus on a path that will lead us with climate change.

“Nature doesn’t need people. People need nature.” I liked this turn of phrase very much, Rosaliene. As I thought about it, however, I wondered if it is literally true. We know how interdependent are the various creatures and vegetation on the planet. MIght our disappearance cause disruptions and extinctions elsewhere? I don’t know the answer, but, since we would not be present to see it, that answer would make no difference to us except as an abstraction to be considered while we still live. Some form of nature presumably would survive, even if it might be transformed.

A great point, Dr. Stein. No doubt, our demise as the apex predator will have effects on other life forms. I imagine that the surviving species will eventually recoup.

I just learned from a friend about the role climate change played in triggering Syrian’s civil war after years of severe drought forced Syrian farmers to abandon their land and migrate to the city: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2015/03/150302-syria-war-climate-change-drought/

Dr. Bramhall, thanks for sharing the link. This important bit of information has gotten lost in the chaos that has ensued. The effects of climate change are already upon us.
